Seattle is the largest city in Washington State - and 18th in the United States, with a population of around 737,000 residents. It is also the seat of King County, located within the northwest regions of the state. Major cities close to it include Everett, Renton, Tacoma, and Bellevue.
Often referred to as The Emerald City or Jet City, Seattle is a fun city to visit, with popular tourist attractions such as the Jackson Street that hosts numerous jazz nightclubs, the Space Needle, Seattle Great Wheel, Amazon Spheres, etc. It also has various historic sites such as the The Museum of Flight, among many others.
The city has a diversified economy, with leads various multi-national companies such as Amazon setting their offices here. Seattle grew as a shipbuilding, aircraft, and tech center, and has a rich mining history. If you want to start selling scrap metal, the market for these materials is available and vibrant. Many people in the city do this business even on a full time basis as the materials are always on demand.
Additionally, scrap yards will offer good prices for these items. If you are a beginner, I would suggest that you take time to learn how the market operates. Also, take some time to have a look at the scrap metal laws in Washington to learn how scrap yards operate because many people end up getting frustrated once they discover that the law in the state requires scrap yards to pay in check – not cash, after 10 days.
Seattle is home to many scrap yards. We did an investigation at how different scrap yards in this area, and noticed that most of them are reputable. However, here are a few that we strongly recommend.
A highly recommended scrap metal dealer around Sodo or North Beacon Hill is Pacific Iron & Metal on 2230 4th Avenue South. If you are around industrial District, good places to take your materials include West Seattle Recycling on 3881 16th Avenue Southwest, Bloch Steel Industries on 4580 Colorado Avenue South.
Those close to the King County International Airport can go to Seattle Iron & Metals Corporation on 601 South Myrtle Street, Recycling Depot on 6004 Corson Avenue South, or Bods Auto & Truck Recycling on 750 South Orchard Street.
A reliable junkyard on the northern side of Seattle are Northern European Auto Recyclers on 1440 Leary Way Northwest.
Cash for gold places we do recommend include Seattle Gold on 6317 Roosevelt Way Northeast, Gold and Silver Traders on 622 South Jackson Street, and Olympic Jewelry Store on 3510 Fremont Place North.
